Provincial Day of Action on Litter
Future Oxford encourages Oxford's residents to reflect on how we can reduce our own waste and help protect our natural environment
Today, May 12, is the first ever Provincial Day of Action on Litter! The Future Oxford Partnership encourages you learn about preventing, reducing and redirecting waste across the province.
As we continue physical distancing due to health expert recommendations, Provincial Day of Action on Litter affords us the opportunity to reflect on how we can reduce our own waste and help to protect our natural environment. Just say “no” to junk mail. Eliminate litter before it becomes litter. Reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, compost.
Future Oxford marks the Provincial Day of Action on Litter by encouraging individuals, organizations, and businesses to think about the ways they’ve adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic and have made a positive impact on waste reduction. We applaud those who plan to keep up the environmentally-mindful practices in a post-pandemic world. And, of course, we applaud those who have been doing it all along!
Provincial Action on Litter Day can be observed in a number of ways. Learn more about why acting on litter is important and for ways to take action:https://www.ontario.ca/page/provincial-day-action-litter
